thanks for the inspiring afternoon! i loved "the september issue", especially the work of grace coddington (who i thought stole the movie from anna wintour). i recognized one of her photographs from the documentary - it was from a Vogue 2003 fashion spread which i still absolutely love to this day!
it had an alice in wonderland theme where each photo featured an interpretation of alice's blue dress with its designer. grace is a genius! (photos are by annie leibovitz). i think the photographs, and even the dresses, are timeless!
here's "alice" with designer olivier theyskens (for rochas)
falling into the rabbit hole with tom ford
in a helmut lang dress (and i think that's his portrait on the wall)
marc jacobs as the caterpillar
karl lagerfeld
gaultier as the cheshire cat
viktor and rolf as the tweedle dee and tweedle dum
btw, here's the 2010 tim burton version of the tweedles!
christian lacroix at the tea party
john galliano (for Dior)
donatella versace
nicholas ghesquiere for balenciaga
and since we opted to watch "september issue" over "alice in wonderland" today, i thought i'd show you the costumes from tim burton's version, which was the most enjoyable part of the movie for me :)
i did love alice's new blue dress (after she had shrunk into wonderland)
here's her dress at the red queen's palace
johnny depp's mad hatter costume
and helena bonam carter's red queen outfit (and btw, she was brilliant in this movie!)
haha! came across these cuties yesterday at serendra! coco the poodle and cooper the (fat) pomeranian :)
its very kawaii!!!
apparently the owner had it done in tiendesitas for about 1,000-1,500 and it lasts 6 months....hmmm.....i don't know if mountain dog luc can rock this look, but i like it :)
found myself with a few free days all of a sudden, and decided to go on a road trip to bataan, with luc in tow...
on the way to mariveles, we passed by sisiman - a quaint little fishing village that we used as a location for a teleserye i worked on a few years ago. i've never seen it from this view though....
or at this time of the day... pretty :)
i loved this lone tree up a hill in Sisiman. it looks like a tree that poets would write about...
it also could look like a scene from a creepy movie....
what to do in bataan? day one, hit the beach! we took a 20-minute boat ride to Lusong beach... where there are lots of coconuts and trees to chill at one of the huts....
day two: don't waste all that sunshine and blue skies! trek to papaya river on mt. tarak!
yes! i took luc trekking for a total of 5 and a half hours! and he was amazing!!! i never had to carry him, he navigated around the trails so well. he would walk way ahead of me but would stop every so often to look back and check if i was still there :) he's a natural! i was oh so proud of my little mountain dog :)
here he is resting on a rock (with a big smile!) heehee
we finally reached papaya river! where he tried to swim too :)
on our way back down the trail, we stopped to take in the view from the mountain...
luc on the pretty grass trails near the bottom, walking and resting, and catching some sunlight through the trees...
that perfect day was ended with a perfect rainbow!
luc seemed to like the rainbow too....
or was it the carabaos? haha! his first encounter....
