(but before anything else, i love this gate beside orchid garden suites):

anyway, orchid garden suites is a boutique hotel, that was built on the mansion of the paternos (remember the regina's guy? hahaha)

they built the building of the hotel in the 90's, but i do love how it was faithful to the art deco era of the house.

tour de carlos: 2nd leg

next stop: south syquia apartments, malate. architect: pablo antonio.

love the courtyard and art deco details... just wish they'd freshen up the facade a little.

the destination: norman crosologo's unit which was right up our aesthetic (as you will see).

tour de carlos: 1st leg

spent the morning with carlos in his first (and maybe only) antonio architecture & arts tour...

since i love midcentury design (and other stuffs, and carlos tours,...) i was really looking forward to this one -- and it didn't disappoint.

(oh, and love his outfit -- with the pop-pinoy undershirt and vintage short-sleeved barong)

here we are in our (1 of 2) bus, being escorted by wang wangs -- both fun and disconcerting.

our first leg: north syquia apartments, malate. architect unknown, although suspected to be pablo antonio.

the first thing i love about this building are the doors. (i love repetitive architectural elements).

even the screen is well-designed.

in the hallways are interesting pieces,

and a few funny signs...

the actual destination was the library room, carlos' office slash room-for-rent-for-a-dive-for-artists...

how was your love day?

well, what better way to spend it than with uber cute flowers,

and DIVINE truffles...

but in truth, my day was really more like this:

chips and wine (one of my fave combinations) -- this time, shrimp-chip pringles and sauvignon blanc...

all... by... myself.....

since my 3 valentines were knocked out.
