here's what i meant when i said "negative spaces".  don't you think it's a cool concept for your new set design project?

this is the side of a clothes display module in a store in osaka.  love the non-lamp-post and the shade-in-wall...

speaking of design, i just visited the SM offices yesterday and i loved them!

so spacious, airy, simple and well & naturally lit.  i wanted to take photos but there were too many cctvs inside.

anyway, when i DO have my own center for h.ou.s.e. project, i'd like it to look something like that.

it almost reminds me of the pixar office -- another DREAM office... almost, but of course not quite...

crabby

you know i LOVE crab.  so i was so happy to find this 5-storey resto in osaka.

they have different kinds of crab, and different ways to cook it.

and they also have hello kitty as a crab. hihihihihi

shhhhhh....

the spiderman ride in universal osaka rocks!  it's part roller coaster, part virtual reality.  incredible!

the jurassic park ride is the same as the one in the states -- kinda like a log ride... except this time, there's this sign that greets you as the ride starts...

"no yelling"???  hihihihihi....

somewhere along the busy shinsaibashi shopping street in osaka,

there's this big screen that intermittently points a video camera to the crowd (and places hair and a striped vest on each person)...

we caught it once when everyone was already crowding around the small space where the camera was pointing at...

 

and the other time we were the first ones there!

japanese school girls in osaka

i do love the japanese school girls!!! i ran into some highschool students on a field trip to osaka castle while i was touring the castle :) and i couldn't help but take some stolen (and not so stolen) shots of them. its quite interesting to see that the ultra disciplined culture of the japanese is totally not reflected in their clothing. the attempt to add unique touches to their (very cute!) school uniform is a sight to see :)
