i sea salt

yesterday, i had my last piece of chocolate covered dark caramel with sea salt. :(

i received a small box of this from friends half way around the world... what a treat.

i am now officially addicted to chocolate and/or caramel + sea salt.

the best combo, of course, is chocolate macaron + sea salt, which i had once in lusso.

die, die, die.

all chocolates should be sprinkled with sea salt, me thinks.

too many walls

my daily route to work is flanked by the most affluent makati villages...

from bel-air to forbes to urdaneta to dasma to san lorenzo...

and this is my view pretty much...

the same grey, drab, ugly walls with peppered with pink mmda "art".

which gets me thinking:

these village associations are pretty wealthy and well-connected (and the residents even more)

and they all have pretty homes and well-traveled cultured minds...

1. so, why can't they do their part in making our city prettier?

2. they spend so much on prettying up their homes, why can't they do the same for their villages' external walls?

i dunno... like they can maybe do just simple brick walls...

or maybe some pretty graffitti....

or commission local artists to do banksy-like artworks...

or maybe vertical gardens...

anything else but those grey drab walls.

let's get our creativity rolling & do our part, yes?

soak up the sun

as i was looking down on the newly lit trees of the nearby mall, i got to thinking...

1. what a waste of electricity

2. but it's so happy... so why not have solar powered christmas lights since these are under the sun all day anyway...

the geek-in-me googled it... and of course, lo and behold... they exist...

and of course... if there are solar-powered christmas lights... then there must be....

while we're at it, what about bamboo bus stops?

oh the possibilities...

today we remember dad, and everything he taught us...

here are 7 lessons i remember today:

1. to be your own boss

2. to not say anything bad about anyone else

3. to boogie & chacha & rhumba... and to moonwalk even if you can't really do it

4. to drink cognac over scotch, and scotch over wine, and wine over beer

5. to make jokes no matter how corny

6. to put up with mom. (oops did i just say that?)

7. to be proud of yourself because he's 100x prouder of you!
