hong kong island has one of my most favorite skylines...
i think it's the backdrop of the mountains, the foreground of water...
and the impeccable architecture (my fave being i.m. pei's hsbc)
in the same way, w's design is kinda like the skyline: natural with modern twists...
like these oddity sculptures:
horse made of speakers...
a pink flower?...
a white horse somewhere in the corner...
the column of eggs in the 'kitchen' where we have breakfast...
very dali-esque yes?
reminds me of his museum in spain:
and here's the check-in counter... with the moving projected flowers in the back wall...
the twiggy elevators...
and the watery floor that greets us everytime we get on them.
more later!

The HK Island skyline with the mountains as the backdrop and the water in the foreground reminds me so much of Vancouver, BC (one of favorite cities)....and oh, there is a large Hong Kong-nian population in Vancouver!!
oooh yes, vancouver is always rated one of the prettiest and best cities to live in. never been there though....
You must go check it out - how about during the upcoming 2010 winter olympics? Whistler is uber fun and the surroundings are undescribable.
