can you imagine telling our bffs

that they are:

dangerous to the youth:

that [they] deserve less than anyone else,

that they are the other, to be shunned and condemned, deserving of every discriminatory act they have fought against since they started stepping out of dark closets.

i've been working on this design project...

it's for twinpopgay's cd covers.

someone is ordering for christmas (naks).

one is for the religious/mass/churchy songs. this is what i came up with: (fyi, that's him)

the other is for his frank-sinatra-y songs...

this is his shadow during a gig: (but customer didn't like this so much)...

he was suggesting to use this photo... but he finds it a bit pretentious... (but perhaps this is the most appropriate!)

this is another one i made... it's based on this photo (of him begging)...

i thought it was most reflective of his character -- haha!

so here's a collage i came up with. backdrop is an MRT station... ("sing for a drink" is a lyric from one of the songs in CD).

today, i watched sean penn rightfully speak to the anti-gay-marriage protestors during his oscar acceptance speech,

and lito atienza make a fool of himself on bbc (c/o carlos celdran).

pride

the malate gay pride parade is coming up...

and in time for that, i was hoping to surprise twinpopfren with a youtube video launch of his singing.

since twinpopfren is twinpopgay, and his fave recording is of 'monalisa', i thought it might be fitting to make the video sort of gay activist-y.

so i drafted this video, just a montage of shots picked up from the web, to see if the song/lyrics is/are apt for the images.

found this on the net.  it's what we saw earlier in the mall...  the in-store burberry summer-spring ad with kinda disconcerting girl-looking guys...

after thinking about it though, i love how these progressive ads break boundaries, labels and stereotyping (serious).

here's a really nice diesel ad put out last year.  maybe during fleet week...
