brian uhing part2

i finally met brian uhing.

he's the one i spoke about in this post.

he's in manila for a few weeks (from sagada).

why i really like him:

1. he's brilliant! this guy can genuinely dissect his art technically and figuratively. incredible.

2. it takes him years to finish a whole show.

3. he's out of touch with the manila art scene. and with manila period.

4. he's cutely anti-machismo. he didn't want his son to have a super masculine name -- so he named him after a subject of one of khalil gibran's poems.

5. he's brilliant! he's been living in sagada for 2 years now, and can discuss the place's history, culture and current social issues with humor and intellect (naks)

6. he's brilliant!

(wanted to take his photo but was too hiya)
