hi sis, i'm back from another weekend adventure! this time from mt. pinatubo - which i trekked for the first time 6 years ago in 2003 (when i wasn't a mountaineer yet). it was actually the first mountain i had ever climbed - and i was in such awe i decided then that i wanted to do that more :)
a lot has changed since i was last there - the long trek then that took us about 6 hours through the lahar landscape has now been reduced to a an hour-ride on a 4x4 plus a 45 minute trek up the crater. the pure lahar landscape has now grown some green vegetation. but the crater though is as beautiful as a remember it to be :) and i still enjoy swimming in it!
before this day ends, happy anniversary twinpopsis and twinpop hub!!!!
i wanted to post cheezy photos of the two of you but in the end decided to go with the bread pudding with caramel and ice cream we had last night at tsukiji :)
had dinner with a guy who works for SM's hamilo coast.
wow, what a project. the coast is oh, but 5,800 hectares along the batangas coastline -- with 13 coves, one of which is 'pico de loro', claimed to be the BEST beach in batangas.
they have a 20-year plan which includes an airport (!) -- and better yet, they're working with WWF to make sure they're developing greenly.
they're also actually building a coastal HIGHWAY that goes all the way from SM MOA to the area -- bypassing tagaytay. how cool is that? so it'll take a li'l over an hour to get to nasugbu.
who the hell is boyet fajardo?! apparently he is a "famous" local designer (who i've never actually heard of) - who has an RTW line in all the Robinsons Department stores. well i hope the gokongwei's reconsider working with a person like this....
this is a video taken by another customer last friday (march 13) at Duty Free Philippines who witnessed this boyet fajardo freak out when the cashier asked for an ID upon making a credit card purchase. which is an SOP there, also esp since the card he was using was unsigned.
and i quote from this witness's blog... "Store Managers and officers were sought to appease the matter, explaining to him that it is all included as a standard operating procedure in credit card payment for the safety, not only for the company but also his own. Ignoring all this, he pulled out his phone and threatened to call on high positioned people whom he allegedly knew, ... he went on using words like 'leche kayo, di nyo ko kilala? AKO SI BOYET FAJARDO! AT Itong P..I.. NA BABAENG ITO, (pointing to a lady officer) at ang baklang ito (pointing to the cashier) ay walang kwentang mga tao! I want them fired!!!'
His yelling and berating went on and on, he cannot calm down and as he appeared to have bloodshot eyes, like that of a drunk person or under the influence. He goes on to say, that only if the cashier kneels down before him and/or allows him to freely slap the persons face, may he get satisfied!!!"
and this is what happened....
the poor cashier knelt down in front of him in tears.
what a F#%@&% asshole!!!!
this person deserves a public tongue lashing!!! so everyone should post and repost this!
Girls are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. The boys don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. So the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right boy to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.
must... go... later... (even if we have somewhere else to go to).
sis, we HAVE to chickout this show. saw a preview earlier...
here's jojie loren setting up his design..
it's R2R's launch of Amina Aranaz's line.
they're displaying the bags (which are uber cool, i want to get one) against dresses made mostly by SoFa students out of newspaper -- how project runway!
i must say the dresses are SO pretty and ingenious! i would actually wear them (if made in real fabric).
i was supposed to go with you to art in the park, but as you know, i've been trying to make the most out of my weekends - and taking every chance i can to go out of town....
last weekend was real, quezon for some sun, sea and sand....
view from a window....
"pinhole-d" beach with ice cream vendor on a bike... really looks like an old scene :)
lazy sunday afternoon on a hammock
spiderweb
dog
and bird....
this weekend i went a bit further up north to mt. pulag... so while you were strolling around the park, i was trekking up the mountain, trying to stay warm and dry in my tent. we weren't blessed with good weather this weekend, so i failed to see the summit this time :( it was a cool trip though....
