one year later

to remember last year's tragic floods from Ondoy, i've planted a teak tree in the UP campus today. i'll be taking care of it and making it grow, so it can be my constant sign of hope for this earth.

merindol!!!

i am totally inspired by this b&b and restaurant in merindol - a very small, off the radar town in the provence. both places are owned and run by this beautiful young french couple, who live in the french countryside most of the year, and travel to asia in the winter. looove it.

my favorite indoor/outdoor space in pink :D

the breakfast nook at the other side of the room

colorful corners

the pink/black restaurant space

the orange room

moodboard! :D watchutink?

antibes

my favorite parts about antibes...

the jewel blue beaches...

fresh framboise from the marche on the plage

the marche....

les glaces (and remy!)

the old town architecture...

the colorful windows...

(and colorful snails)...

the cobblestone streets and little doggies (that look like luc)....

amelie

woke up early one morning here in paris and decided to watch "amelie" again. and then i tried going to some of the places she went to....

"the two windmills" restaurant where she worked :)

the metro stop where she first saw the blind guy with the phonograph

she walked down these steps from the sacre coeur

this is carousel where she asks nino to meet her (but there aren't any public phones here anymore)

all we need is love

last night, i went to bed a little scared...

today, i woke up with great news.

the pastor who was planning to burn korans on the 9th anniversary of 9-11, finally decided against it.

what was he thinking???

what's happening to this world?????

then in FB, our *astrologer* posted this re the hostage incident:

"

i dont understand why we have to apologize! the hostage incident is what it is; an incident! i didnt hear the chinese apologize for the infected milk they sent here!

"
Why is there so much resentment in the world?

Haven't we learned enough from the past? Even just simply from the Israelis and Palestinians?

decades ago, 4 wise men sang these 5 words...

I hope one day we'll finally listen.

murakami versailles

i was quite pleasantly surprised to see japanese pop art pieces displayed throughout the palace of versailles today - what an interesting mash-up! you and twinpophub would have loved it!

oddity!

the art of racing in the rain

i haven't cried (this much) over a book in a long time...

it's a story from the point of view of a lab-terrier enzo...

who's very old...

*ugly face cry*...

pompidou!

you were right, i would love it here! highlight of my day :)

sat out here eating a crepe avec nutella (hihi)...

saw the "elles@centrepompidou" exhibit, a contemporary collection of work by women artists, about 350 works by some 150 artists

going up to see the rest of the museum's modern collection

outside the pompidou at the igor stravinsky plaza :)
