monday

it was a perfect way to start my week! yoga at 6am, start work by 8am... and then off to pottery class at 2pm! inspired by your earth therapy.... i finally found a class to do this year :)

here's the workshop at the UP college of fine arts. i love the super high ceiling, the big space and all that light that comes in (even on rainy days).

it has a lot of interesting pieces made by the students there. this one caught my eye right away - a fish sculpture from a materials class, made mostly of spoons forks and knives :)

here's my little workspace... where i decided to make a leaf plate patterned after a real leaf i found outside, all by hand-building....

i "pinched" a lotus flower bowl to go on top of it...

and made this little bird by hand, so it could perch on the leaf....

tadah!!! here's my leaf sushi plate, with a lotus flower bowl for the soy sauce, and a little bird where you could rest your chopsticks on :)

i'm leaving it to dry so i can glaze it and fire it in a few weeks :) can't wait for my next class....hmmm.... so many ideas, so little time....

best monday ever. haha!

eartherapy

yesterday, we had our first session of art therapy...

we use clay, as it is the most primal form... and it will ground anyone who does it.

activity #1: make a doll kinda equated to a mom/guardian.

it was quite a transformative experience, believe it or not...

guess which mine is?
