back to the willie obsession...
twinpophub bought this magazine the other day. inside it is a sooooper long article about willie and his kayamanans (took him 2 hours to read it -- and he's a fast reader!).
as per kris aquino, the mag sold 250,000 copies -- at P100 each -- imagine that!
isa na si twinpophub sa suckers...
i didn't get to read it because twinpopsis2 borrowed it.
anyway here are some pages from the mag:

some more points:
- he has a guest house + a room for 40 drivers, in case his guests choose to stay in over night
- he's a bit of a chauvinist (as per his interview in the mag), and it's not surprising if you've seen the show (heard the songs sung there, heard his comments to the girls, etc etc.)
- he makes money from abscbn, from the advertisers (who pay him directly), from a travel agency he put up in the states for the pinoys who want to come home to watch the show live.
- with what seems to be an exploitative show (to women, to the poor, etc.), why do people adore him? what's his charm? what does this say about us filipinos? hmmmmm.....

he gives away money in his show...don't underestimate that...my instinct tells me that's waht makes him popular...they put up with his chauvinism because of the money...so the analogy might be that our country/people put up with a lot of stupidity because of money...whaddyathink?
I bought that magazine last January. I didn't even finish it. I got so umay with him. Even with all that money he earns ang baduy ng bahay nya.

yes true... his money-giving-away is a definite plus. but i don't think it's why people adore him all over the world. he's got this certain kind of charm that i can't seem to understand. i don't think people "put up with his stupidity", i think they really truly adore him.
someone said it's because he seems to "know and understand how they feel".
really strange to me -- because many times when i watch the show, i actually get offended by the things he says and does... but that's me.
yes twinpophub finished it --- hehehe. he said it was hard especially with the tagalog.
you're right...watch closely when you watch the show...he doesn't treat people very well and watch the people...they take it because they're hoping to win money/prizes...even the article doesn't emphasize how much people like Willy...it just talks about how much money he has and where he came from and how pporly he even treats the staff under the guise of being a "perfectionist"...chickit out!!!
