apparently, this nike poster was supposed to be put up all over the MRT's but the MMDA had them removed. the website with this poster (that received over 4,000 hits on its first day out DAW), was also said to have been removed. although i still found it here. sacrilegious?! an overreaction, i think....
well, i'm putting my poster up at home on sunday morning - just because i have one - hehe :) (...even though, as you know, i've always been a big dela hoya fan).

i thought the ad was pretty clever. first saw it in nike.
the pacman is known well for kneeling in the corner to pray before and after a fight -- so i think this is a stylized version of this habit. the photo's allusion to the crucifix simply makes the ad more dramatic and thought-out, and not necessarily likening the pacman to christ or anything like that.
and pacman isn't all that bad... many experts believe that pound-for-pound, he's the best fighter anyone has ever seen. so in some ways, he's still a role model... that's what i think :)
Actually I have Manny critiques but not in that particular post. That one was more the Inquirer and all the people that believe for one nano second the outcome of a boxing match is both worth praying for and proof of God's being content with a nation.Then the Inquirer asking for prayer. So me Flower, I added the ad (hehehe) plus all the Inquirer texts and subtexts and their reader input and came up with my reaction. Thanks!!!
okay lang ako tanggalin yung poster sa MRT dahil pwede syang maging road hazzard. natatanggal yung pandikit nito sa ilalim at di malayong mangyaring lumipad-lipad ito sa harap ng mga motorista.
minsan madami talaga nitpickers satin. nagkakaroon lang naman ng ganuhng kahulugan yung litrato dahil pinahuhulugan nila. warraf!
