i spent all of my sunday working on a photo shoot with several local bands. during one of the lulls, i sat on the make-up chair getting lessons on how to do that 1920's fingerwave hair - practicing for (yet another) upcoming costume party. the theme is mobster/mafia/gangster and i've decided to come as a flapper girl - haha.

ANYWAY, just as i was in that 1920's mode, this young band walks in dressed in black and white wing tip shoes, funky ties, suspenders, hair done up in pomade, straight out of a mobster movie. i loved them instantly!!! haha
the "bembol rockers" (love the name too)
they just start playing their instruments, putting on a free show for everyone as photographer mark nicdao clicks away.
and one of them got up on his bass!
their music is very fun, very old world. i think dad would've enjoyed them too (*sniff*).
they are launching their first album on saturday. i think i might just get a copy :)

support pinoy music!

I just remembered!
Three of the members were/are also part of the Brass Munkeys.
Worked with them rin in a tv show ofve a year ago.
they were my favorite too! i must say though, the very retro-looking canister of pomada (and the hairstylist they brought along just for that) took the cake! haha...pomada.
